Ever so often in politics, there comes a remark that makes a lasting impression, and is recalled during future election cycles.
Thirty-two years ago, during a debate, Republican Presidential candidate Ronald Reagan shot down and shut up incumbent President Jimmy Carter with the words, "There you go again".
That simple expression resonated with the media and with the voters, and the great communicator went on to win the Presidency. Those words became part of Ronald Reagan lore, and they have been recalled often ever since.
There have been other classic remarks, other such memorable moments through the years, and Newt Gingrich provided another today during the Republican Presidential debate when he asked fellow hopeful Mitt Romney to cease and desist with his "pious baloney".
That "put down" is sure to make the Presidential debate highlight reel.

The remark you cite from last night's debate, Bill, I don't even remember. So, I don't think it will measure up to effect of Reagan's, which I can still recall. Perhaps, you might have given us in both instances a little more context which at the time may have justified (or not) the remarks.
